Welcome to the art of Dave Christiansen, an artist living in Lincoln, Nebraska, the heartland of America. Dave realized his passion for art at a young age and has not stopped creating, experimenting, and mastering his craft since. He studied art and design in college, developing his creativity and style while earning a degree in Commercial Art. From designing t-shirts for the Olympics as a screen printer in upstate New York, working as a Creative Director in a large advertising agency, and now a full-time artist, he has chased his passion for art throughout his life.
Dave has spent time traveling to different art festivals around the country showcasing his work. This includes the Kansas City Arts Festival, Denver Arts Festival, and many others. Attending these festivals has allowed his art to be represented in public and private art collections and galleries throughout the country.
Each painting Dave completes is personal. He starts each piece with a conceptual thought, often using humorous wordplay to create titles that help him visualize and create the final piece. Staying loose while working allows the lines the freedom to go in unexpected directions. Radiant watercolors, a mainstay of Dave’s work, run together creating combinations that are often unplanned. The addition of soft pastels gives the painting a burst of color and texture, helping create an expression that brings smiles to those who view his work.
